Brussels High Speed train tracks

Brussels Midi Station, HST: a detailed noise & vibration study of the station was carried out. The aim was to obtain low noise levels (Lmax < 60 dB(A)) in the station hall (steel frame structure) during train passage.  The APT-CBT reduced the effects of structure borne noise.

The APT CBT system uses the standard twin block sleeper (as the one used for ballasted track) with a rubber boot and an elastic undersleeper pad, the design avoids lateral friction between the sides of the sleeper blocks and the rubber boot. The installed system yields excellent results.
